Shorty says, “Haaaay!”
Probably like most of y'all, I have a love hate relationship with social media. I love it for the ability to update everyone on farm happenings and sell my farm goodies, but I hate the amount of precious TIME it usurps. With three daughters blooming, time is something rather precious. The tease of the social media scroll and subsequent relentless drama of others was, indeed, not a good use of time. So, I left.
You know what? It is peaceful, quieter, with a bit more space in life for thoughts, conversations, and connection (the genuine kind, not the emoji comment kind). And you know what else? I have a much brighter view of humanity without the lense of social media. It's a good place to be.
I got a stupid number of emails from Facebook and Instagram trying to pull me back in, and surprisingly to me, there were actually a few friends that noticed my absence and called to check in on me and catch up the old-fashioned way. I've heard from several folks that they miss checking out the farm happenings. I plan to do my best with a bad internet connection and this old glitchy computer to be more regular at updating my farm blog here. It's tough to sit down and "create content" when I'd rather be out just doing the stuff, but January is a slow month on a homestead and gives me some time to get back to sharing with the world wide web.
I have "how to" posts lined up, as well as some of our family's most loved recipes. Plus....some huge farm news that we are really excited about!
Happy Growing!
